Hegemonic Practices and Curriculum Redesign: Perspectives from the Humanities

Abstract

This study analyzes the lived experience of a group of professors responsible for curriculum redesign in a bachelor's degree program at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the Benémerita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, using a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach. The objective is to understand how traditional practices continue to be perpetuated in these processes, besides the individual and collective experiences derived from the collected testimonies. Consequently, the study reveals the real-world scenarios and the persistence of hegemonic practices that hinder the development of curricula congruent with the current needs and context of higher education.
