Abstract
The following text addresses the images in the field work. Photography has accompanied various anthropological investigations, but most of the cases for illustrative purposes. This article explores some uses that photography has had in the anthropological context; then he addresses photography in field work and the incorporation of the image thought from technological devices; Finally, a brief proposal is presented to think about the image from the processes of authorship and from the semiotics of Charles Peirce. From a specific case, such as dance halls, it is concluded that the photographs contribute information to the investigation, if the technological devices, the authors in the image, the contexts where it is recorded, and the analysis of the image are considered.
