Graffylia is edited and published following ethical editorial guidelines based on international standards to ensure best practices.

First and foremost, Graffylia is committed to receiving, pre-screening, and—provided the editorial and relevance criteria established in its calls for papers are met—sending the proposed texts for peer review. In all instances, Graffylia will subject approved texts to an evaluation process based on double-blind peer review. Furthermore, Graffylia declares that editorial and publication decisions will not be influenced by the origin of the manuscript or by the authors' characteristics, such as nationality, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or political affiliations. Nevertheless, the journal retains the prerogative to accept or reject a text when it fails to meet the criteria of objectivity, originality, and scientific and/or academic relevance.

The Journal Management, the Editorial Board, authors, and reviewers are obligated to strictly fulfill the duties and responsibilities outlined in this code of ethics. The following points are highlighted:

All viewpoints are respected, ensuring plurality and the inclusion of academic perspectives, methodologies, arguments, and themes related to the humanities and social sciences.
The journal will review articles to ensure that, within the framework of freedom of expression, no harm is caused to third parties and that ideologies, religions, or political stances are not promoted in a biased manner outside of academic discussion.
Authors must send and sign a letter certifying that the submitted work is of their own original authorship.
All works must be unpublished, original, and not submitted to another journal during the evaluation period.
Each work must achieve an originality report of at least 80% via the Turnitin anti-plagiarism software.
The journal reserves the right to retract any article at any time in cases of plagiarism, duplication, the use of falsified data, or any other action that undermines the production and free circulation of humanistic and scientific ideas.

A) Regarding the Journal Management and Editorial Board

The Editorial Board and Journal Management will consider the potential publication of an article based on the requirements specified in the calls for papers, without personal or ideological biases.
The Editorial Board and Management will conduct a general review of the article to ensure compliance with the journal's editorial standards.
The Journal Management will be responsible for accepting or rejecting a text based on the results of the corresponding anonymous peer reviews.
The Editorial Board and Management will select appropriate specialists to conduct the evaluation processes.
Article acceptance is contingent upon the evaluation of at least two expert reviewers who will remain anonymous (as will the authors). At least one of the reviewers will be external to the publishing institution. In the event of a split decision (one positive and one negative review), the Management will subject the text to a third review.
The Management and Editorial Board will jointly resolve conflicts or exceptions, such as redundancy or duplicate publication, plagiarism, data falsification, conflicts of interest, or authorship recognition issues.
The Management will be responsible for maintaining confidentiality throughout the entire peer review process.
The Editorial Board will notify authors of the final evaluation decision in writing, accompanied by the corresponding reviews.
The Editorial Board and Management commit to making no other use of the texts beyond their publication under the established parameters.
The Editorial Board and Management will establish clear timeframes for responding to the acceptance or rejection of texts.
The Editorial Board will oversee the anti-plagiarism review of texts and resolve any conflicts of interest.
Manuscripts will be evaluated solely for their intellectual content, regardless of the authors' gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.

B) Regarding the Authors

Authors may only submit original research; previously published research will not be accepted.
Authors must not submit the same article for publication in other journals while it is under review at Graffylia.
Authors must appropriately cite and reference the sources used in their research.
Authors must recognize as co-authors all individuals who have significantly contributed to the content of the text.
Authors will provide appropriate credit to the translators of the entire text or parts thereof.
Where applicable, authors will disclose sources of financial support within the text.
Authors must confirm that the presented results are exclusively the product of their research. They will also confirm that they hold the publication rights to the work and do not infringe upon the copyrights of others.
Authors must ensure they possess the necessary permissions to reproduce and print material that is not their intellectual property (graphs, maps, diagrams, photographs, etc.).
Authors must clearly present the results of their research and its significance.
Submissions will not undergo evaluation until all requirements outlined in Graffylia's Editorial Criteria have been met.
Authors must integrate the comments and changes requested by the reviewers into the final version of their text.
Authors must approve the publication of their institutional affiliation and email address.
Authors will follow the instructions for the evaluation phases and respect the deadlines for submitting corrections.
Authors will sign a letter authorizing Graffylia to edit, publish, and distribute their article in print and electronic media.

C) Regarding the Reviewers

Reviewers have an obligation to objectively and ethically evaluate the texts they agree to review. The evaluation will be based on the following criteria:

Criteria for Evaluation: a. Congruence between the text's theme and the general orientation of Graffylia. b. Relevance of the topic. c. Original contribution to knowledge regarding the topic and/or discipline. d. Consistency of the text regarding the exposition and development of objectives, argumentation, substantiation of conclusions, and, where applicable, the use of empirical evidence. e. Appropriate use of theory and methodology for data collection and analysis in accordance with the research objectives.
Reviewers who feel unqualified to judge a work must return the text to the Editorial Board within a period no longer than ten calendar days.
Reviewers must treat the document under review with strict confidentiality.
Reviewers must complete the review of the text within a period no longer than twenty calendar days.
Reviewers must substantiate their evaluation based on their subject matter expertise.
Reviewers must not use unpublished information, arguments, or interpretations contained in the manuscript under review.
Reviewers must clearly explain their evaluation so that the Editorial Board, Management, and authors understand the analytical foundation of their comments.

Reviewers will be acknowledged with a certificate of collaboration issued by Graffylia and endorsed by its Management.

Sanctions

The violation of one or more ethical standards outlined in this Code will be penalized depending on its severity. In the event of suspected or accused plagiarism, Graffylia will form an evaluation committee; if plagiarism is confirmed, the article will be retracted from the electronic journal, and a public notice explaining the reason for the retraction will be posted.
