The vampire of our days, the closest to young readers or the closest reference to them, is the result of various transformations in his form of representation, each author who includes a vampire as a character in the narrated story, brings his own biases or nuances, although in essence the vampire is a drinker of human blood. Cinema and its directors have helped to offer us a vampire suitable for the story they tell. Investors in the film industry, in order to bring to the big screen and guarantee a large audience in the projection theaters, rely on successful publishing stories, the readers of these best sellers are eager to see the story while tasting popcorn and large soda. The most recent vampire in the collective memory of young people is Edward Collen, the protagonist of the Twilight saga, a story that was made into a film based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer. Nowadays the vampire figure has been quite nuanced, sweetening it more, to the extent that the relatively young generations tend to fall in love with its attractiveness and its type of life, because they find it simply charming and consider it very "romantic", attributing to that term characteristics such as honey, tender and loving; that is, excessively sweet. If romanticism is usually attributed to the characteristics described in the previous paragraph, then there is a confusion in the concept of the romantic and this text aims to understand the original version of the romantic character of the vampire. Such a purpose requires resorting to certain historical data and a very special vampire, the first of its kind in literature, but what characteristics does it possess to identify it as romantic?
