Abstract

During the years from 1930 to 1950, the gunmen of the center of Veracruz defended the permanence of the power relations and the economic and political status quo of the regional power groups through the weapons provided by the caciques such as Manuel Parra and the support of the governors at the time, as well as military of the Secretariat of War and Navy. The gunmen of the Mano Negra group were part of the agrarian oligarchy, they murdered the peasants and the agrarian leaders who asked for the distribution of the agricultural latifundios in the state of Veracruz.
