Abstract
There is a multiplicity of themes that come around when appreciating a film from a philosophical perspective, which is the case of this paper. We offer some thoughts on J. Schnabel’s film “Le Escaphandre et le Papillon”, which main theme is the Locked-in syndrome experience and its implications in the whole life of the people which suffers it. The relationship between cinema and philosophy, diversity and the constitution of identity are issues that challenge us and motivate our writing since the loss of most of our faculties seems to be capable to take away the meaning of the existence but the capacity to communicate, even through a blink,
